Where I work

I have worked as a Data Engineer in the Reality Labs division of Meta since 2019. Meta owns a lot of the digital landscape right now, including Facebook, Instagram, Threads, WhatsApp, and Reality Labs / Oculus / Quest.

Whose opinions these are

Everything here is my own opinion and my own words, not on behalf of my employer. Nothing here is internal, confidential, or unreleased.

What I don't write about

I will not write about any part of Meta's businesses, business lines, or business programs, or about my internal work or products in any role, current or previous. I will also not write about my day-to-day work as done internally in the company.

Money

I do not accept any payment to write about any particular topic, company, or role. A lot of this is already covered on the terms page as well.

Hardware, software, and anything free

I have not been sponsored to receive anything free so far, because I am a rookie.

How this site is written

This site is written primarily through dictation, research, and link catalogs kept in an Obsidian brain graph. Additionally, I do use AI assistance for co-editing, copy-editing, and some image generation. However, the words — the large majority, around 80 to 90 percent — are literally what I have written.

Corrections

Any correction or update gets a note at the top of the post it applies to, saying what changed. The change is also marked inline, at the place in the post where it was made.
